Why there is a free tier at all
Because the underlying data should not be behind a paywall. The Official Journal and gov.uk are public, and a withdrawal date you cannot see is a compliance risk for everyone. What is worth paying for is not the data — it is not having to look.
What you are actually buying
Two things. First, a diff: the lists are rebuilt every morning and compared against yesterday, so a change is caught the day it appears rather than the next time somebody opens the PDF. Second, a refusal to guess — when a source looks wrong, the entry is quarantined instead of published. You will occasionally see a gap. You will not see an invented date.
Questions
Is this legal advice? No. NormPulse is a monitoring service. Every row links back to the Official Journal or gov.uk, and those are the authority.
Where does the data come from? EUR-Lex (Cellar REST and SPARQL) for EU harmonised standards, gov.uk designated standards spreadsheets for UKCA.
What if nothing changes for months? That is the normal state of a standards list, and it is exactly what the monthly monitoring report is for: a dated record of every standard you watch, when it was last checked and what the source said on that day, ready to go into a technical file. A quiet month is still evidence that somebody was looking.
What is the founding rate? The first 20 Pro subscribers pay €19 a month, or €190 a year, and keep that price for as long as the subscription runs — through any later price rise. It does not apply to Consultancy. If you cancel and come back, you come back at the standard rate.
Can I cancel? Monthly plans cancel any time, no contract. Annual is billed once and includes two months free. Payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy, which is the merchant of record and issues your invoice.
